Elizabeth Xu, Ph.D.

Dr. Elizabeth Xu is an international transformational technology leader, one of the top 50 diverse leaders in the US in 2020. Dr. Elizabeth Xu is a C-level executive at a few $billion revenue global companies and a Public Company Board Director. She is the co-author of the book Myths of the Promotion, 10 Steps to a successful career., a frequent speaker at industry conferences and events, and a Stanford University lecturer. She taught WSP 229 (10 Steps to A Successful Career) at Stanford University for 6 years and currently she is a guest lecturer at Stanford University, teaching Digital Transformation.

Dr. Elizabeth Xu is a dedicated mentor and a passionate multiplier, she is inspired to help the younger generations to reach their fullest potential. In May 2020, she was named of the top 50 technical leaders in the US. She has been honored with the Presidential Service Award in 2018, the WITI Hall of Fame in 2017, the Silicon Valley Women of Influence in 2013, and the International Leadership Award in 2017, as well as 10 other Stevie awards, including the Technologist of the year, the Female Executive of the Year, the Innovator of the Year, the Mentor of the year from 2013 - 2016.

Dr. Elizabeth Xu is also a senior business executive with 20+ years of experience and a demonstrable record of business, technology, and product strategy/execution, and customer satisfaction success. Dr. Elizabeth Xu’s expertise includes digital transformation through the application of AI, IoT, and other enterprise technology to multiple businesses; architecture transformation; creating/deploying and supporting large-scale, mission-critical mobile, SaaS, on-premise platforms, and billion-dollar revenue software products.

Dr. Elizabeth Xu is a public board member of Remark (MARK), and a board member of Be the Change Foundation. She also serves as an Innovation and Entrepreneurship Advisor at MIT, Sloan Business School, Computer Science Advisory Board member, University of Nevada College of Engineering, WITI advisory board member. She is deeply connected to the top talent and startups in the world.

Dr. Elizabeth Xu has served many top technical leadership roles including the Group CTO of CP Group, an international conglamorate ($65B revenue, 350,000 employees); SVP Technology/CTO at BMC Software($2B+ revenue), where she led CTO office and Digital Enterprise Service BU Engineering. Elizabeth also held SVP, Group VP positions at several other firms, including Acxiom ($1B+ revenue), Rearden Commerce/ Deem.com, and Vitria Technology, (a Silicon Valley unicorn with a post-IPO of $6.8B market cap), where she was a Corporate Officer & SVP. She started her management career at IBM in 1996, where she developed the very first two versions of Digital Libary, Content Management, and DB2.

As a lifelong learner, Elizabeth continuously learns new technology, business strategy, and management skills. She earned both a B.S. and M.S. from Peking University, an M.S. in Computer Science and a Ph.D. In Atmospheric Science from the University of Nevada, Reno, NV. Elizabeth completed advanced executive education programs at Stanford Business School, Board Certification from Havard Business School, an AI and Data Analytics certificate from UC Berkeley, and a Cloud certification from Amazon.

Ms. Patrica Zimmerman

Pat has been Elizabeth’s mentor for 30 years. She retired from AT&T at age 43. She retired the 2nd time from the positions of the Chairman and President of Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, University Nevada, Reno.

Pat has been teaching and coaching various students and working professionals since 1989. She has contributed significantly to the community.

Pat is the winner of Jefferson and Kennedy Awards and many other prestigious awards. As a lifelong learner and mentor, she believes that “ The day you stop learning, is the day you start dying”.
